This 2-storey stone-fronted converted chapel has masonic symbols over the double front door. Beside it is a sign ‘Fire exit Keep Clear’ and across the road ‘H. Hocking & Sons Builders’. But to confuse visitors, one cannot enter this way! The entrance is by a back door.
Access.
The dining room is on the ground floor with the lodge room above, up steep stairs. Wheelchairs can enter through the fire exit on the same level as the lodge room
Directions.
From the east.
Come off the A38 at Trerulefoot onto the A374, then turn right onto the A387 into East Looe and at the bridge over the East Looe River, continue straight on into the public car park on the Quay.
From the west.
Come off the A38 via Pelynt on the B3359 into the A387 down Polperro Road, across the bridge over the East Looe River; turn right into the public car park on the Quay.
Then walk. On the left is Fore Street, proceed past the Clock Tower on the right, through the bollards to the ‘Ship Inn’ on the left. Continue past the Cornish Bakehouse, and turn left before the HSBC Bank along Higher Market Street. Immediately opposite ‘The Old Guildhall’ (with an ancient cannon) on the right is a signpost to ‘Fishing Quay’. Turn left and 20 yards up the hill on the left enter through a tall metal gate along a passageway with the door to the Hall on the right.
Parking.
If the public car park on the Quayside is full, there are others nearby. Those with disabled passengers can drive to the Hall (as it is a 5 minute walk) and then return to the car park.
