Royal Ark Mariner Grand Assembly (A Winter’s Tale)
A very frosty and icy Sunday the 11th December, saw 8 intrepid explorers leave the warmth and comfort of home to travel to London to attend The Royal Ark Mariner Grand Assembly.
The PGM, R.W.Bro Kevin Hicks accompanied by the DPGM, W.Bro Peter Furness and the AsstPGM, W.Bro Mike Pritchard and several other Brethren arrived in London safe and sound and after booking in to our accommodation we gathered in the bar for a libation before braving the elements once again to go in search of sustenance. A suitable eatery had been selected within easy reach and we dined in harmony. Unbeknown to us it had started to snow, a sight rarely seen in the centre of London.
Grand Assembly on the Monday, was a wonderfully colourful event, with our own Provincial Grand Treasurer, W.Bro Kevin Dower and our Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro Adrian Waters being honoured with Grand Rank. We were joined by 3 more of our Cornish Brethren, W.Bros Simon Trevains, Sean Moyse and David Trevains who had made the journey up by train on the Monday. Luncheon was taken upon completion in the Grand Connaught Rooms, great food, great atmosphere and above all, great company.
Thankfully the journey home for “One and All” was uneventful and we are all looking forward to a Merry Christmas and a Happy and prosperous New Year.
Merlin Centre say “Thank You” for the Cheque for £500 presented by W.Bro Jeremy Sincock on behalf of the members of St John The Baptist Lodge of Mark Masons No 404
